Is my text stored?

Text is only sent when you ask Rewritly for help. Rewritly ignores password fields and hides automatically in code editors, terminals and password managers.

Why does Mac ask for Accessibility permission?

So Rewritly can see where your cursor is and paste the improved text back. It never reads password fields.

Does it work offline?

No. Rewritly needs an internet connection.

Which apps does it work in?

Almost any app where you type: native apps, Chrome, Safari, Edge, Brave, Gmail, Slack, Notion, WhatsApp Desktop, Claude, ChatGPT and more.

How do I uninstall?

Mac: quit Rewritly from the menu bar, then drag Rewritly from Applications to the Bin. Windows: open Settings → Apps, find Rewritly and click Uninstall.
